In spring of 2012, as the legislature was slashing school budgets, CTEF members met with E3 Alliance and regional superintendents to understand how private funders could help to bridge the gap.  Superintendents identified increasing attendance as the highest priority where the community could best engage.  Why?

  • It can be addressed better regionally than district by district, and aligns with the regional strategic plan, The Blueprint for Educational Change
  • It is something that community action and resources can directly and significantly impact (as opposed, for instance, to teacher hiring)
  • It has a "triple bottom line" impact to better student learning, more efficient teaching, and more revenues to schools

Lots of progress has been made!  E3 Alliance has been working with district and community partners to collect and analyze never-before-seen data and trends, develop initial logic models for change, plan a community outreach campaign, and identify possible matching opportunities.  Come hear the progress and how you can be involved!
