FAQs
No,
CTEF does not make grants. We encourage grantseekers to visit our
members’ individual websites for more information on their funding
priorities.
What can CTEF do for me as a grantmaker?
Networking
among CTEF members has led to greater understanding of education issues in
Central Texas, and in a growing number of cases, to collaborative
funding. As a member, you will receive email notifications of
upcoming CTEF events and networking opportunities, and your funding
information will be included in the annual Giving Profile. While
CTEF does not require membership dues from its members, we expect members to:
- Make a meaningful contribution of time and expertise to CTEF each year (e.g., post articles/join discussions, attend and participate in meetings, plan/host events, etc.);
- Participate in the selection of Steering Committee members;
- Provide updated funding information for the Giving Profile two times per year
What can CTEF do for me as a grantseeker?
Although
CTEF was formed to serve grantmaking organizations, we do provide
additional resources and services to grantseekers as part of our
mission to improve and strengthen the effectiveness of the non-profit
education sector. Please note that CTEF does not make grants. To
research funding opportunities, and obtain fundraising and/or
organizational assistance for your nonprofit, please contact the
individual funders.
For a list of CTEF members who support work in your area, please see CTEF’s most recent Giving Profile.
Additionally,
in February 2010, a number of CTEF members began accepting the Common
Grant Application and the Common Grant Report, both of which were
designed to streamline the grant application and grant reporting
process for education-based nonprofit organizations. For more
information on these forms, please visit the CTEF Common Grant
Application and Common Grant Report pages.
CTEF is open to private foundations, public foundations, and corporate philanthropies that:
- identify education as one of their focus areas
- make grants in Central Texas (may be headquartered elsewhere)
Individual funders, operating foundations, and grantseeking organizations do not qualify.
We welcome all eligible grantmaking organizations to join CTEF. To become a member, please click here to send us your contact information. As a member, you will receive email
